Terry McGinnis

Terry McGinnis served as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation prior to his retirement in 2006. During his distinguished 35-year career with the FBI, McGinnis instructed over 2,500 domestic and international police officers and agents world-wide in firearms, street survival tactics, sniper tactics, SWAT and defense tactics.  Immediately prior to his retirement McGinnis served as a member of the St Louis, Missouri Violent Crime / Fugitive Task Force. As a Senior Agent on the squad he was designated as the Task Force Coordinator responsible for supervision of the assigned agents and police officers.

During his highly decorated career McGinnis distinguished himself as a true hero in the history of the FBI.  In addition to conducting a, once in a career, arrest of a “FBI Ten Most Wanted,” and another eleven (11) “America’s Most Wanted” subjects, McGinnis has been credited with making in excess of 3,500 violent crime and fugitive arrests.  McGinnis is the recipient of the FBI Medal Of Honor and the FBI Star (wounded in the line of duty), two of the FBI’s highest medals of recognition for his actions in the line of fire during an arrest of a bank robbery suspect.  McGinnis served as a member of SWAT in Detroit and St Louis, and later serving as the Senior Team Leader in St Louis.  McGinnis has an extensive background in training; he is a certified FBI Instructor in firearms training, defensive tactics and tactics.

Terry was assigned as the Primary Defensive Tactics and Tactics Instructor for the St. Louis Division.  Post 9-11, McGinnis deployed to Pakistan to conduct investigations in support of the War on Terrorism.  McGinnis was again deployed twice to Afghanistan to conduct investigations on terrorist suspects.  McGinnis has provided instruction for the Law Enforcement Training for Safety and Survival Program (LETSS) at numerous locations world-wide.  Prior to joining the FBI, McGinnis served three years in the United States Marine Corp.

Among several professional associations, McGinnis is a member of the FBI National Academy Associates, FBI Agents Association and the National Rifle Association.
