Craig McGroarty


Craig McGroarty served as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation prior to his retirement in 2006. During his distinguished 20-year career with the FBI, McGroarty instructed over 4,000 domestic and international police officers and agents world-wide in firearms, street survival tactics, sniper tactics, SWAT and defense tactics.  McGroarty is one of a select few agents to be certified as a FBI Master Police Instructor

Immediately prior to his retirement McGroarty served as a member of United States Attorney General’s (AG) Protection Detail.  As a Senior Agent on the detail he was tasked with the personal security of the sitting AG and their families.  As the Lead Advance/Travel Agent, McGroarty was involved in excess of 200 official trips on behalf of the AG office and U. S. Government.  McGroarty has an extensive background in training, having worked as a primary instructor for the Law Enforcement Training for Safety and Survival Program (LETSS) at the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia.

Craig’s leadership and expertise was utilized during his tenure in the FBI’s Chicago Division, serving as a member and Team Leader on the SWAT Team.  McGroarty also distinguished himself as an exceptional instructor while assigned to the Chicago FBI Training Facility where he conducted training in firearms, SWAT, survival skills, defensive tactics and physical fitness.

Three years prior to joining the FBI McGroarty was a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Agency in Detroit Michigan.  He began his career in law enforcement as a police officer in Lakewood, Colorado where he served for three years, after leaving the U. S. Army.
