Course:  Terrorism Survival Awareness


  • Five-day course 
  • A course designed to raise the officers awareness in areas associated with terrorist investigations, surveillance/counter-surveillance and arrest /search. 
  • Attendees will receive instruction in developing the mind-set to confront the diverse issues when making an arrest or searching a property in a terrorist case. 
  • Tactical considerations will be introduced to raise the attendee’s awareness of life threatening concerns when involved with an entry and search of a terrorist location, making a high-risk vehicle stop. 
  • Instruction will include methods of developing an arrest plan and conducting a team briefing when preparing for a high-risk arrest.
  • Techniques a marksmanship proficiency evaluation, in addition to receiving training in marksmanship, target identification and an introduction to basic combat shooting skills.
  • A full field exercise utilizing the tactical and surveillance / counter-surveillance principals will be conducted at the conclusion of the course.

(500 rounds of ammunition- student responsible, surveillance practical will require the use of a vehicle-student responsibility  )
